After a succesful career in information technology and computer journalism, I am now pursuing my lifelong love for the sea as my new field of work. In addition to my maritime qualifications and nautical experience I have many transferrable skills from my earlier professions valuable for working aboard and managing a yacht. My approach has been mostly entrepreneurial, working through my own small companies, but I have also been engaged in top management and as part owner in two successful Internet businesses. I have hospitality experience from arranging and hosting group travel and international conventions through the years and have also held positions as chairman and treasurer in voluntary organisations. When I'm not at sea I still like to write professionally but will now focus on boating, travel and lifestyle journalism. I also continue taking on IT development projects for a number of clients. A short chronological overview of my professional experience and education is shown below. If you'd like to read the full story, please see my profile on LinkedIn. |
